Petrom continues the campaign "Rediscover Romania" in 2011

March 4, 2011

  • The most important Romanian brands, in partnership, to "Rediscover Romania"
  • Rediscover Romania – the best social media campaign in Romania in 2010, awarded by Internetics

Petrom, the largest oil and gas producer in South-eastern Europe, will continue in 2011 the campaign "Rediscover Romania". Through its campaigns, Petrom has been and will continue to be involved in actively promoting the Romanian values.

Dan Pazara, Director of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs: "Petrom is a traditional brand that was and is part of every Romanian’s life. Through this project we want to bring to the attention of the public Romania that is growing through common sense and responsibility, regions that are less promoted, traditions, historical and cultural objectives. Basically, the largest fuel distribution network facilitates the meeting with a less known Romania."

In 2010, Petrom, helped by bloggers, made a map of over 800 recommendations of places to visit in Romania. For three months, four teams travelled 6,000 km, visited over 70 cities and 100 places of interest. The campaign unfolded successfully and received a series of awards for online communication, among which: Best Social Media Campaign, (Internetics), Best User Generated Content (RoNewMedia), Best Interactive Corporate Website (Internetics) and Best Social Media campaign (RoNewMedia).

In 2011, the campaign aims at getting even more Romanians involved, rediscover authentic Romanian traditions, bring forth places and images of Romania that are less known, alongside with over 100 bloggers, during 5 trips.

Therefore, the idea of the partnership with some of the most important Romanian brands – Dacia, BCR and Romtelecom developed. They will be joined by Paralela 45, Romanian Peasant Museum, bloggers and specialists.

All information referring to the campaign will be available on the dedicated site of the project, www.redescoperaromania.ro, on the social media accounts of Petrom and its partners.
